At 180 Christian Counseling and Training, I use and teach Nonviolent Communication developed by Dr. Marshall Rosenberg. Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is a powerful tool for fostering understanding and connection. By focusing on empathy and expressing our own feelings and needs rather than making judgments or demands, we create a space where genuine connection can occur. This approach encourages us to communicate in a way that acknowledges our shared human experiences, particularly our common needs, which are a fundamental basis for connection.

"Self Full" is a term I like to use.  I believe it encapsulates the idea that being aware of and expressing our own internal experiences is crucial for meaningful communication. This self-awareness doesn't mean being self-centered; rather, it involves sharing our authentic selves with others, which can lead to deeper and more genuine connections. This shift from focusing on others' actions or judgments to understanding and expressing our own internal state can transform interactions in personal, professional, and family settings.

NVC emphasizes that the goal of communication is not just to exchange information but to connect at a deeper level, creating an environment of mutual understanding and respect. This can lead to more harmonious relationships and a greater sense of fulfillment in our interactions.
